North East Shakti Circuit

The North East Shakti Circuit is a seven-day, six-night pilgrimage that starts and ends in Guwahati and covers three Devi shrines in three states: Kamakhya in Assam, Tripura Sundari in Tripura and the Nartiang Durga Temple in Meghalaya. The package is priced from ₹ 34,500 per person and includes the Guwahati–Agartala–Guwahati flights, which save two very long road journeys.

The first two days are in Guwahati. After a boat ride to Umananda Temple on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra, Day 2 is kept for darshan at Kamakhya on Nilachal Hill, one of the most important of the 51 Shakti Peeths and a major centre of Tantric worship, along with Mahavidya shrines on the hill such as Bhuvaneshwari, Tara and Bagalamukhi, and Basistha Ashram. On Day 3 you fly to Agartala and visit Ujjayanta Palace. Day 4 is the drive of about 55 km to Udaipur for Tripura Sundari (Matabari), where tradition holds that Sati's right foot fell, with Kamalasagar Kali Temple and, time permitting, Neermahal. On Day 5 you fly back to Guwahati and drive about 100 km to Shillong. Day 6 is a 65 km drive into the Jaintia Hills to the Nartiang Durga Temple, linked with the fall of Sati's left thigh, returning past Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak if the weather allows.

Six hotel nights (two each in Guwahati, Agartala and Shillong), daily breakfast and dinner, private AC road transfers, a tour manager or local guides, tolls and parking, and Guwahati pickup and drop are included. VIP darshan, special puja, monument fees, lunch and GST are extra. Walking is light apart from the climb at Kamakhya, so the trip suits most senior citizens in reasonable health.
