Tour Information

  • Arrive at Kolkata Airport, Howrah Station or Sealdah Station and meet the Teerthayan representative. Proceed for darshan at Kalighat Kali Temple, one of Bengal’s most revered Shakti Peeths. After hotel check-in and rest, visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple on the Hooghly River, subject to arrival time, traffic and temple operating conditions. The day is deliberately light so that travellers can recover before the long road circuit begins. If the arrival is late, Dakshineswar may be moved to the final day when departure timing permits.

Travel tips

Photo Identification

Carry an original government-issued photo ID and one photocopy for hotel check-in and travel verification.

Early Departures

Days 2, 3, 4 and 5 should begin early because village temples may close during the middle of the day or follow local ritual schedules.

Temple Clothing

Wear modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Carry a light shawl or stole for temple use.

Footwear

Use comfortable slip-on footwear because shoes must be removed repeatedly and some approaches are uneven.

Cash

Carry small-denomination cash for offerings, local transport, drinking water and rural temple expenses.

Road Comfort

Keep personal medicines, motion-sickness support, a neck pillow and light snacks for the longer road sectors.

Festival Planning

Navaratri, Durga Puja and Kali Puja require earlier departures, flexible routing and advance hotel confirmation.

Rural Access

Some temple lanes are too narrow for larger vehicles and may require a short walk, e-rickshaw or local van transfer.

Food

Inform the team in advance for Jain meals or vegetarian food without onion and garlic.

Departure Timing

Book a late-afternoon or evening departure from Kolkata on Day 6 to allow sufficient road and city-traffic buffer.

Traditional lists vary, so the package clearly names every shrine rather than relying only on a number.
