Depart from Mumbai early morning by private AC vehicle (approximately 3-3.5 hours via the Pune-Nashik Highway or Kasara Ghat route). On arrival in Nashik, check into your hotel and freshen up. Begin the afternoon with Nashik's sacred sites: proceed to Panchavati, the forest grove of five ancient Banyan trees (Pancha Vata) where Lord Rama, Mata Sita, and Lakshmana are believed to have resided during their exile - one of the most hallowed Ramayana-associated sites in western India, drawing both Shaivite and Vaishnava pilgrims. Visit the Sita Gupha, the cave where Sita is said to have rested, set directly within the riverbank at Panchavati. Proceed to Ramkund, the sacred Godavari ghat where Rama performed the last rites (Pind Daan) for King Dasharatha and where the river flows with particular sanctity - a ritual dip here is considered deeply meritorious. Evening: walk along the Godavari ghats, visit the Kalaram Temple with its striking black-stone Rama idol, and attend evening prayers at the ghat. Return to hotel for dinner.
