The Saurashtra Shiva Circuit is an 8 days / 7 nights Shiva pilgrimage that starts and ends in Ahmedabad and loops through the Kathiawar peninsula of Gujarat. It covers both Saurashtra jyotirlingas: Somnath at Prabhas Patan on the Arabian Sea, and Nageshwar near Dwarka in the ancient Darukavanam. It also includes Bileshwar Mahadev near Porbandar and Bhavnath Mahadev at the foot of Mount Girnar. Prices start from ₹ 22,900 per person, plus GST.
Day 1 is the long drive from Ahmedabad to Dwarka, about 450 km. Day 2 covers Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Dwarkadhish Temple and Gomti Ghat, with an optional boat to Bet Dwarka. On Day 3 you drive down the coast to Porbandar, stopping at Bileshwar Mahadev, Sudama Temple and Kirti Mandir. You spend two nights at Somnath, so you get both an evening and a morning darshan, the aarti, the seafront light and sound show, Triveni Sangam, Bhalka Tirth and the Baan Stambh. Day 6 takes you to Junagadh for Bhavnath Mahadev, Mrigi Kund and Damodar Kund, with an optional ropeway up Girnar. You return to Ahmedabad on Day 7 and leave on Day 8.
The circuit is road-based with no compulsory trek, so it suits families and senior citizens. The package covers seven hotel nights (two each at Dwarka and Somnath, one each at Porbandar, Junagadh and Ahmedabad), daily breakfast and dinner, AC transfers and sightseeing, tolls and parking, help with booking abhishek or the ropeway, and 24x7 support. Ropeway, Bet Dwarka boat, puja and abhishek charges and lunch are extra. October to March is the most comfortable season. Mahashivratri at Bhavnath is spectacular but very crowded. Arrive at Ahmedabad and proceed towards Dwarka (approx. 450km, 8-9 hours) on the north-western edge of the peninsula, the gateway to the first Shiva shrine of this circuit. En route, an optional halt at Jamnagar to visit the Bala Hanuman Temple, known for its continuous Ram-naam chanting since 1964. Arrive at Dwarka by evening and check into your hotel. Rest and prepare for the Nageshwar darshan the following day. Overnight at Dwarka.

Carry Valid ID
A government-issued photo ID is required at temple complexes, for hotel check-in, and for ropeway booking — keep it accessible at all times.
Dress Modestly for Temples
Traditional or modest clothing is recommended at all shrines. Carry comfortable footwear that is easy to remove, as you will walk barefoot in temple areas.
No Phones or Cameras Inside Sanctums
For security, phones, cameras, and bags are not permitted inside the Somnath sanctum and must be deposited at the counters near the entrance; similar rules apply at the Bhavnath inner shrine — plan accordingly.
Carry Bel Patra & Offerings
For abhishek and Shiva worship, bel (bilva) leaves, gangajal, and simple offerings are traditional — many are available at stalls near each temple.
Pack for Coastal Weather
Light cottons for the day, a light woollen layer for winter evenings, plus sun protection — sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen — for the warm coastal sun.
Gujarat is a Dry State
The sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited throughout Gujarat. Plan accordingly and respect local laws.
For the Girnar Ascent
If you choose to climb or take the ropeway, start early, carry water, and wear good shoes. The ropeway saves the long stone-step climb to the peaks.
Carry Cash
While cards and UPI work in towns, keep some cash handy for pooja offerings, donations, the ropeway, and small purchases.
Mind Mahashivratri Crowds
If travelling during the Bhavnath Mela, book accommodation well in advance and expect heavy footfall and traffic around Junagadh and Girnar.
