A government-issued photo ID is required at temple complexes, for Gir safari booking, and at hotel check-in — keep it accessible at all times.
Traditional or modest clothing is recommended at all shrines. Carry comfortable footwear that is easy to remove, as you will walk barefoot in temple areas.
For security, phones, cameras, and bags are not permitted inside the Somnath sanctum and must be deposited at the counters near the entrance — plan accordingly.
Light cottons for the day, a light woollen layer for winter evenings, plus sun protection — sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen — for the warm coastal sun.
The sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited throughout Gujarat. Plan accordingly and respect local laws.
Basic first aid, personal prescriptions, and any regular medication. Medical facilities in temple towns are adequate but carry essentials for the long drives.
While cards and UPI work in towns, keep some cash handy for boat tickets, donations, small purchases, and the Gir area.
Highway drives are long on travel days (8-9 hours on Day 1) — early starts ensure daylight driving, comfortable breaks, and time for evening Aartis.
If you wish to do the jungle safari, permits are limited and best booked ahead — confirm season availability with our team before travel.
