Carry Voter ID or Passport: Mandatory for Indian passengers on Nepal domestic flights (Pokhara–Jomsom); Aadhaar alone is not accepted at airports
Warm Clothing for Jomsom and Muktinath: Even in May–September, temperatures at 3,800m drop sharply at evenings; carry a light down jacket, warm fleece, and comfortable walking shoes
Book Morning Flights to Jomsom: Afternoon flights are frequently disrupted by mountain winds; early morning bookings have far higher reliability
Comfortable Walking Footwear: The 30-40 minute uphill walk to Muktinath on stone-paved trail requires flat-soled trekking or walking shoes — not heels or chappals
Carry Water for Muktinath Walk: Bottled water is available at the base but limited en route; carry at least 1 litre for the uphill walk and darshan time
Currency: Indian Rupees are accepted across Nepal (approx. 1 INR = 1.6 NPR); having some Nepali Rupees is useful for small purchases, cable car tickets, and local fees
